First, please review the Powerpoint presentation on work samples that is posted on the class Facebook page. If you have not yet joined the group please do so by following syllabus instructions.
Then, I need you to find three work samples that you have already created, based on suggestions for work samples from the Powerpoint. Work could be things you've done as an intern or part-timer for professional media, for student media or for classes that post work to the public Spartan newsroom site (like stories for JRN 300).
Next, cut and paste links to this three samples and post them under your name on the class Facebook page.
Then, once everyone's links are posted, choose one other student's work to critique, and add your comments to that post's comments section. Think of what you like and why; what adhered to the advice offered in the Powerpoint and how, and any other helpful thoughts you can share with the author.
Now, here are the deadlines:
- For having links to three work samples of yours posted to the group Facebook page, your deadline will be no later than 9 a.m. Friday, May 18.
- For having your comments added to the comments section of another student's post, your deadline will be no later than 9 a.m. Monday, May 21.
