Portfolios: Your Assignment

There's a reason we did assignments on personal branding, work samples, resume creation and such: now, we will bring all that together and (if you don't already have one) create a portfolio site.

Portfolio sites are critical for media professionals. These are sites where we display our best work, host professional background info and put out to the world our best professional face. These are sites where it should be easy for potential future employers to see your best stuff and find out about you.

For example, I have a portfolio site. You can see it here.

Posted here are several posts with advice and ideas on how to create your portfolio site. If you don't have a site, use these tips to start building one. If you do already have a site, go over these posts and tweak your portfolio site as needed.

Once finished, then you will post to the class Facebook page the URL to your portfolio site, so we all can get a look at everyone's work and (hopefully) get some ideas on how we want to further tweak our sites.

Your deadline for having your portfolio page finished and a link posted to Facebook is no later than 9 a.m. Thursday, May 31.

Any questions or concerns? Please contact me ASAP. And good luck!
