Digital Story Package: The Next Step

By now, you should have your digital story package idea approved. Now, it's time to start working on your actual story package.

Please take your approved topic and primary medium and put together a draft story. It may be a traditional written narrative, a video or audio story, an alternative story form or a photo story. In the following posts are the rubrics that will be used to evaluate your work. Please use the right rubric as a checklist to make sure what you have is okay.

Written narratives should be in Word docs attached to the email. ASFs should be in PDF form and attached to the email. Video, audio and photo stories should be uploaded to a YouTube or Soundcloud or whatever Web host, and then you should email me a working, open to the public link to your work.

Your final deadline for your digital story package final product will be no later than 9 a.m. Friday, June 8 to omars@msu.edu.

This assignment is the single biggest assignment this semester, in relation to your final grade. So please make work on this a priority.

Also, a reminder: the stories we do for this class will be publicly shared as part of a public news Web site. These are real news stories being done for a real public Web news site that is run by MSU. So DO NOT tell people who you are interviewing that this is just for a class; it will be seen publicly, and YOU will be held publicly responsible for the work you do.
